This work investigated the possibility of incorporation of nickel into several mesostructured cellular foam (MCF) silica supports prepared at various aging times (1, 2, and 3 days) by using deposition-precipitation method followed by reducetion process and to look for the best support to obtain supported nickel catalyst with highest nickel loading and smallest size of nickel nanoparticles.

It was considered a valuable thing to know performance of glucoamylase on Mesostructured Cellular Foam (MCF) silica in hydrolysing of tapioca. An optimised study on enzymatic hydrolysis of tapioca using glucoamylase on MCF silica (9.2T-3D) and its kinetics were described including justification of the predicted model as it was required to develop in large scale operations. silica particles were used to encapsulate free glucoamylase, which effectively hydrolysed wa-ter soluble carbohydrate and could be used for many cycles of the process [13]. Glucoamylase immobilised on mesostructured cellular foam (MCF) silica also performed well by having high activity during hydrolysis of soluble starch [14]. As insoluble substrates such as tapioca can be used to make chemical compounds, saccharification of tapioca by glucoamylase immobilised on mesostructured cellular foam (MCF) silica using Box-Behnken Design of experiment was conducted to optimize this process so that the experimental results can be used to develop large-scale operations.
